Our client, a dedicated organization in the support services industry, is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join their team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be part of a compassionate team supporting individuals in their journey towards independent living. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to helping others, which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Direct Support Professional
**Locations:** Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx
**Pay Range:** $17-$17.50
**What's the Job?**
+ Provide habilitation services to clients as outlined in their service plans.
+ Assist clients in developing skills for daily living, socialization, and recreation.
+ Ensure clients maintain personal hygiene and a clean living environment.
+ Support clients in meeting their nutritional needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
+ Administer medication to clients as assigned and in compliance with established policies.
**What's Needed?**
+ High School Diploma or approved equivalent required.
+ Effective written and oral communication skills.
+ One year’s experience providing direct services to individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
+ Willingness to participate in training for certifications such as AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR, and First Aid.
+ Basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office suite and Windows).
