Directional Drill Operator/ Heavy Equipment Operator

Pay:

30-35/hr

Description:

•\tLeading utilities contractor seeking skilled DB Operator/Locator for their local Minnesota team. This position will have voluntary lay offs in the winter. If a candidate still wants to work, there would be per diem travel opportunities in the Midwest. Summer hours worked get to 50-60 a week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•\tOperates Horizontal Directional Drill for installation of underground telecommunications cable conduit, including fiber optic cable

•\tSetup and cleanup of work site, including traffic and pedestrian control

•\tReads utility locates and coordinating day lighting of these facilities

•\tEnsures all applicable permits and locates are complete and on site

•\tOperates construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications

•\tLevel earth to final grade specifications

•\tPerforms proper maintenance by greasing, oiling, and making minor repairs on equipment

•\tConfirm bore path with install foreman and drill operator (including walking the bore path)

•\tEnsure the drill head is in a good position at the exit pit to connect the product

Preferred:

•\tClass A CDL license (Air Brake, Combination certs)

•\t80/day Poer diem if traveling

Work Environment:

•\tMonday - Friday | 7:00/8:00 am start (8–10-hour days)

•\tMeet at the shop in Eden Prairie off 65/494 or meet directly at the site.

•\tMust be good with OT: 5-15 hours a week

•\tOccasional out of town work, very minimal, will be back home Friday.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
