OverviewThe Enterprise PMO (Project Management Office) Director is responsible for establishing HireRight’s ePMO function and overseeing day-to-day operations of the project and program management organization to ensure optimal prioritization, capacity planning, project delivery and change management for critical cross functional programs. Success in the role involves establishing a best class project and program governance process and tools, developing and implementing project management standards, directly managing core projects while growing a small-but-mighty project management team, and managing change with partners across the organization to ensure seamless execution and adoption.
This dynamic role will be at the forefront of HireRight’s rapid value creation journey, building critical organizational capabilities that will have a lasting impact in a critical and growing global industry. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with PMO governance as well as with directly managing multi-faceted, cross-functional programs/projects and a track record of success. Experience with technology-enabled initiatives, process change implementations and post-merger integration are highly desirable. Critical characteristics include strong cross-functional and direct leadership skills, ability to drive urgency and navigate ambiguity, outstanding organizational skills, and a high degree of business acumen.
Responsibilities Work with senior leadership and leverage best practices to define and build the enterprise PMO capability including project intake, prioritization, governance and change management processes and tools for a portfolio of cross-functional enterprise strategic initiativesProvide visibility into execution capacity and project performance, working with leaders to resolve barriers, optimize resources, and ensure outcomes align with enterprise objectivesDirectly manage high priority strategic program execution, coordinating deliverables with multiple cross-functional teams to achieve cost, schedule, compliance and business impact objectivesBuild and lead a team of project and program managers utilizing best-in-class project management methodologies, techniques, governance, and processesWork cross-functionally to integrate project implementation plans into long range business forecasting, providing an accurate and up-to-date view of project delivery timing, impact and risksCollaborate with project management leaders and resources from across the organization to drive adoption of project management best practices QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business management, technology, engineering, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience; Master’s degree strongly preferred Demonstrated success in building and a PMO team, ensuring project standardization, consistency, and accountability across the organization; preferably in a technology or high-growth environment 7+ years of experience within a Project Management Organization or equivalent experience; previous experience in leading PMI work is a plus Strong knowledge of resource and project management methodologies, tools, and software Deep understanding of operational systems, technology adoption, and process improvement Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities Excellent communication skills and ability to cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with project managers, internal teams, vendors, and other stakeholders PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified ScrumMaster, and/or ITIL Foundation certifications are highly desirable Experience developing and implementing training programs and standards is a plus Experience managing onshore, offshore, and remote teams, including in a supervisory capacity Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) What do we offer
