What You’ll Be Doing
Join the Alternate Solutions Group (ASG) as a Director of Product Development and make a real difference for our clients. Within CIBC Global Markets, the Alternate Solutions Group was launched in 2013 with a mandate to develop innovative and creative technology-driven capital markets solutions. This group is an unconventional capital markets organization that combines the innovative spirit and agility of a FinTech startup with the financial strength and strong governance protocol of a major financial institution. ASG has been recognized as a global leader in providing disruptive technological capital markets solutions in several product areas including Cross Border Payments, Dynamic Currency Conversion, Foreign Cash & Precious Metals Online and white labeling thereof. ASG’s client base stretches from some of the largest banks in the world, to corporates to CIBC’s retail clients.
We are hiring on the Global Payment Services (GPS) team. This team helps clients across many industry verticals with cutting edge solutions to facilitate international payments and foreign exchange.
In this role, you will directly support the Global Money Transfer (GMT) product line, enabling millions of clients to send payments to over 130 countries. You will focus on developing core functionality that ensures seamless, cost-effective, and near real-time movement of money in and out. We are looking for a high-energy individual with an entrepreneurial spirit to help grow our Global Money Transfer business. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment as part of a dynamic, results-driven, and execution-focused product team dedicated to achieving ASG’s overall revenue growth goals. Your key mandate will be to deliver high-value product features, enhance user experience, and implement process improvements that unlock large-scale growth in users and transactions to achieve business results.

How You’ll Succeed
Business Planning & Management: You will be responsible for business planning and management by developing and executing product strategies and initiatives that enable ASG to achieve its short-term and long-term goals and objectives. You will meet performance targets that support the overall Global Payment Services plan through data-driven insights and initiatives. Regularly monitoring performance and market trends will be essential for you to provide valuable information that drives decision-making. Additionally, you will ensure that all regulatory, business, and financial reporting is completed accurately and on time.
Leading with Authenticity: You will lead a high-performing team, with authenticity through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and effective problem-solving. You will inspire and support the team in reaching their goals, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving team success and achieving shared objectives.
Collaboration: You will build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including risk, technology, operations, marketing, and retail channels, to successfully execute initiatives and bring new users, capabilities, and offerings to market.
Product and Process Improvement: You will seek concrete and practical ways to enhance our product and overall value proposition to clients. You will understand and review our processes, identify areas for improvement, and propose productivity-enhancing solutions. Additionally, you will manage the team through the execution of these initiatives to ensure successful implementation.
Who You Are
You have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance/Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, other related fields, or equivalent work experience.
You have at least 5 years of experience working in payments and FinTech product development/management roles.
You have at least 3 years of experience in digital product management portfolios with a specialty in daily banking, Canadian deposits interest bearing mechanisms and building requisite financial models.
You have demonstrated interest in Capital Markets. You’ve built a strong knowledge of Capital Markets, FinTech or the financial services industries which allows you to analyze complex issues and identify & develop innovative opportunities.
