START stands for Systemic, Therapeutic, Assessment, Resources, and Treatment. Our goal is to provide stability and prevent disruptive crises in participants’ lives. Services are provided 24/7 on-site or remote for crisis response and consultation.
The Director of Clinical Services is responsible to provide guidance, oversight and consultation for clinical support services, person-centered planning, and staff training and development.
Responsibilities:
+ To ensure that the values and principles which govern treatment for those with intellectual disabilities and serious mental illness are foremost in both theory and practice within the program, using Evidence based practices and best practices.
+ To participate fully, as a START Team member, in the design and implementation of comprehensive program of quality improvement and assurance.
+ To provide consultation and technical assistance about clinical, behavior and/or psychological issues affecting START participants to support team members for everyone receiving START supports.
+ To develop and implement training for all agencies and their staffs to improve the quality of programmatic activities/services and increase the effectiveness of staff intervention with individuals.
+ To work collegially with others from START Team and agency staff, funding sources, supports coordination, and advocacy groups to improve program operations and plans, for the future.
+ To offer clinical and/or behavioral consultation on behalf of individuals to all programs; to assist staff and/or family members in identifying and accessing resources and/or solving problems on behalf of individuals.
+ To coordinate and oversee the clinical aspects of the work of the START Team to include START Clinical Team Leader, Coordinators, Therapeutic Team Lead, and Therapeutic Coaches to facilitate effective implementation of program and support plans in all environments for individuals served by agencies.
+ To ensure staff competency and certification compliance, assess staff training and development needs and plan and implement a comprehensive and timely program of training and coaching interventions to improve job performance and program quality.
Qualifications:
+ PhD., in Psychology or Master’s degree in appropriate field strongly preferred.
+ At least five (5) years of progressive responsible clinical and administrative experience dealing with people having an intellectual disability and co-occurring mental health disorder.

The base salary for this position ranges from $130,000 - $150,000 annually. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation that JEVS Human Services provides to recognize employees for their work.
