About the role:

The Director of Security has responsibility for the day to day security force of the property to ensure the safety and security of all guests, personnel and property.

What you will do:

Review daily arrivals to ensure proper handling of VIP's, Return Guests, groups, etc.

Work closely with Engineering to maintain proper standards of hygiene and functioning of equipment.

Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.

Perform any other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.

Trained and certified in First-Aid, CPR, and rescue techniques.

Manage and supervise the day-to-day security force of the property to ensure the safety and security of all guests, personnel, and property.

Implement all policies and procedures regarding security and safety.

Design and implement preventive safety and security programs.

Prevent situations that could jeopardize the reputation of the hotel.

Investigate offenses committed against the hotel, guests, and employees.

Document all incidents occurring in the hotel in connection with crime, subversions, potential liabilities, and insurance requirements.  And in documenting such activities remain objective, and write comprehensive reports.

Assist hotel staff in handling of unusual guest or employee problems, such as but not limited to, disorderly conduct, employee or guest accidents, fire or safety hazards, robberies, civil disturbance, power or elevator failures, medical assistance, natural disasters, and overall security incidents.

Select, train, schedule, discipline, and direct security personnel in all aspects of security policies and procedures.

Keep abreast of developments within the hotel and community as they relate to security as well as act as a liaison with local law-enforcement agencies.

Remain informed of current Federal and local laws and regulations as they relate to the hotel, particularly in areas of guest, patron and employee rights.

Take an active role in the development and implementation of the hotel's fire plan. In addition to testing the hotels Fire and Emergency Response preparedness.

Take responsibility for all training related to the hotel's emergency procedures and conduct bi-annual Fire Drills.

Control the key, lock system, alarm system, and fire protection system.

Chair the Health and Safety Committees in the hotel.

Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.

Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.

Develop a yearly budget for the department.

As a Department Leader you will motivate and develop a team, always leading by example, and instill a culture of continuous learning and improvement among your staff.

You actively participate in Employee Relations activities and programs.

You are actively involved in identifying and assessing the needs of your team and investing in their career development through effective coaching, training, and by instilling company our values.

When dealing with guests and internal customers you live by the Golden Rule.

You demonstrate high standard awareness, by setting example for standards execution, standards testing, and implementing action plans to achieve established product and service goals.

You will use your unique personality and service style fulfilling the Four Seasons Brand and Resort standards creating a special and memorable experience!

What you bring:

College degree   

Minimum 5 years management experience in a luxury Resort.

Demonstrate adaptability to live in a remote location.

Excellent English and Spanish (Preferred) language

Serve as a role model for others by demonstrating appropriate business conduct and ethical principles.

Proven ability to effectively lead in a variety of situations with different individuals or groups.

Ability to develop strong and effective interdepartmental relationships.

Schedule & Hours:

This is a full time position

This role primarily works Monday through Friday, although may be asked to work other shifts, based on business volume.
