I. Job Summary
The Director of Power Marketing for WM Renewable Energy will manage the off-take from WM Renewable Energy’s power fleet, maximizing revenues for energy, capacity, and renewable energy credits.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership:
Commercial management of WMRE’s portfolio of power assets.
Works with WMRE senior management to establish strategy and direct resources as appropriate. Develop strong relationships internally with key WM stakeholders as well as WMRE Operations teams. Executes agreed-upon sales, and hedging strategies while managing the risk around WMRE’s power portfolio. Leads a small team of 3-4 Power employees. Responsible for growing, coaching, directing and motivating them to be successful. Works closely with WM and WMRE functions in plant operations, compliance and regulatory to establish, manage and monetize the inventory available for sale. Experienced in the marketing of RECs, Capacity and Electricity. Experience with energy transaction I.T. systems and platforms like Nymex, ICE, Nodal as well as Over-the-Counter transactions.Day-to-Day activities:
Manage / Supervise Day Ahead & Real Time activities at various ISO’s. Negotiate Power Purchase Agreements. Manage EMA service provider(s). Complete implementation and roll out of ICE and NODAL platforms. Manage WM Renewable Energy’s Renewable Energy Credit (REC) book. Implement and optimize the power hedging strategy of WM Renewable Energy’s merchant fleet. Seek out opportunities to bid new and existing capacity into utility RFP’s. Work proactively with WM Procurement to lower power costs for the WM Renewable Energy RNG fleet. Monitor and respond to all ISO/PUC regulatory requests.III. Supervisory Responsibilities

A. Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 10 years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: Master’s degree and 10 years of related experience. Experience in waste or energy related industry.

None required.
C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to present information to top management, public group, and boards of directors. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish fact and draw valid conclusion.V. Work Environment
