**Description:**
In collaboration with the Respiratory Manager and general supervision of the Clinical Service Director, assesses needs, plans, implements, evaluates, and revises educational programs, curriculum, and related materials for the Respiratory Therapy Department. Develops courses and/or training program content and conducts training, education and coaching. Plans, develops, and implements evaluative tools and conducts competency training. Monitors quality metrics and defects in order to design programs to reduce defects. Maintain records regarding educational programs.
Education Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy, Healthcare, Science or Business related field.
Credentials/Licensure Minimum: Registered Respiratory Therapist. Current State of Mi License. BLS, NRP, Preferred: ACLS
Related Experience: Minimum- Two years' experience in Critical Care and NICU. Preferred: Five years' experience in Critical Care and NICU.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Minimum-Knowledge of Respiratory therapy policies and procedures. Ability to develop new and innovative education opportunities to meet the changing needs of the department. Demonstrate excellence in assuming the various roles of Respiratory educator to include: educator, assist in quality measure, orientation, NICU transport Lead, policies and procedures, RN education/shadowing, Labor and Delivery sims, Critical Care/NICU rounds, Skills Fair, new equipment Lead, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Preferred: One year of experience in group leadership and group process leading to effective outcomes.
