Reporting to the Corporate EHS Manager, this critical role will empower you to create lasting change and mentor others in fostering a safe and efficient workplace. This is a contract to hire opportunity based in Chicago, IL with a 100% on site work model! Responsibilities: + Lead by example, living and promoting company values every day. + Develop and implement proactive strategies to mitigate workplace risks and hazards. + Analyze EHS data and metrics to drive impactful improvements in facility operations. + Investigate incidents, coordinate responses, and implement corrective actions. + Manage workers' compensation reports and related documentation with precision. + Ensure compliance with USDA, BRC, FDA, HACCP and other regulations, while delivering training across teams. + Participate in audits and maintain detailed records to align with corporate and government standards. Requirements + Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, Engineering, or related discipline. + 5+ years of facility EHS leadership experience (preferred). + Certifications like CSP, CIH, CSHM or CHMM are a plus. + Expertise in safety regulations, strong communication skills, and a knack for innovative problem-solving. + Proficiency with programs like Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and cloud-based EHS systems. + Ability to occasionally travel, lift up to 20 lbs, climb ladders, and work in allergen-friendly environments.
