Are you a passionate and skilled EHS leader eager to make an impact? Our client is looking for an innovative and results-driven EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) Manager to join our facility leadership team and champion the values of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Corporate EHS Manager, this critical role will empower you to create lasting change and mentor others in fostering a safe and efficient workplace. This is a contract to hire opportunity based in Chicago, IL with a 100% on site work model!
Responsibilities:
+ Lead by example, living and promoting company values every day.
+ Develop and implement proactive strategies to mitigate workplace risks and hazards.
+ Analyze EHS data and metrics to drive impactful improvements in facility operations.
+ Investigate incidents, coordinate responses, and implement corrective actions.
+ Manage workers' compensation reports and related documentation with precision.
+ Ensure compliance with USDA, BRC, FDA, HACCP and other regulations, while delivering training across teams.
+ Participate in audits and maintain detailed records to align with corporate and government standards.
Long Term Salary Range: $80,000 - $130,000. Benefits available to contract professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Requirements
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, Engineering, or related discipline.
+ 5+ years of facility EHS leadership experience (preferred).
+ Certifications like CSP, CIH, CSHM or CHMM are a plus.
+ Expertise in safety regulations, strong communication skills, and a knack for innovative problem-solving.
+ Proficiency with programs like Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and cloud-based EHS systems.
+ Ability to occasionally travel, lift up to 20 lbs, climb ladders, and work in allergen-friendly environments.
