About the role
Reworld is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support safe and efficient facility operations through the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and control systems. This role is part of a small team responsible for ensuring the reliability of all power plant electrical and instrumentation equipment.
The expected hourly rate for this position is $41.66.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair low and medium voltage electrical systems (120V to 13.8kV), including switchgear, motor starters, and transformers
Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance on steam turbine generators and related high-voltage equipment
Support electrical maintenance for boilers, fans, motors, air pollution control systems, and refuse crane systems
Troubleshoot and repair Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS), including flow, level, pressure, and temperature instruments
Perform routine calibration and maintenance of transmitters, flue gas analyzers, and instrumentation
Maintain and troubleshoot Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and historian systems
Conduct preventative maintenance using thermography, ultrasonic testing, and other diagnostic tools
Complete documentation, work orders, and participate in shutdown inspections and tear-down activities
Operate calibration equipment and adhere to all Reworld safety procedures and protocols
Maintain a clean and organized work environment and assist with general plant and shop housekeeping tasks
Participate in required safety and compliance training and support other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; formal technical or apprenticeship training preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a power plant or industrial electrical maintenance role
Strong knowledge of 120V to 13.8kV AC switchgear and power distribution systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
E-2 Journeyman Electrician license preferred
Willingness to work rotating shifts, be on call, and work overtime as needed
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and structures, and work at heights
Must be able to wear full PPE including negative pressure respirators
Ability to work in high temperatures, noisy environments, and varying outdoor weather conditions
Frequent standing, kneeling, crawling, stooping, and reaching required
Must meet specific vision requirements including close, distance, color, and depth perception
