Electrical Designer
Job Title: Electrical DesignerJob Description We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer to join our team, focusing on the design of lighting and power systems for both vertical and horizontal projects. This role involves performing electrical calculations using engineering formulas and software, preparing point by point lighting calculations, and ensuring energy code compliance. You will be responsible for preparing project specifications, researching code requirements, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring timely deliverables to clients. Your role will also include active participation in project meetings, providing internal QA/QC, and offering guidance on company processes and standards. Responsibilities + Design lighting and power systems for projects. + Perform electrical calculations using engineering formulas and software. + Prepare lighting calculations and ensure energy code compliance. + Develop project specifications and research code requirements. + Maintain project schedules and ensure on-time deliverables. + Participate actively in project meetings. + Provide internal QA/QC and guidance on company processes. + Deliver quality service to clients. Essential Skills + Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical engineering or electrical design. + Proven experience in designing lighting controls, power distribution, and branch systems. + In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC). + Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and AGI-32. + Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle short deadlines. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Civil 3D and MicroStation proficiency are advantageous. + PE License or EI/EIT Certification is a plus but not required. + Collaborative, team-first attitude and strong work ethic. + Excellent interpersonal skills with peers, superiors, and customers. + Ability to articulate strategies in a clear, concise manner. + Positive role model who can mentor junior staff.
