Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

Work on the concept development and prototype design, integration, and test of high-power processing and controls solutions for various product lines and technology areas. These encompass high-power motor drives, power conditioning systems, high energy laser systems, battery systems, advanced aerospace and electro-optic sensors, space-based optical communications, small satellites and space systems, nuclear thermal propulsion, optical beam pointing and control, and signal/image processing. With consultative direction, exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives for the review, research, design, development, and/or solutions for designated engineering systems, projects, and programs. Demonstrate prior experience in the improvement of legacy systems and development of new systems.

ResponsibilitiesGenerate electrical architecture solutions for new project needs.Perform electrical engineering analyses for systems and circuits.Document findings and communicate results to engineering and program management staff.Give technical presentations and manage technical effort schedules.Function in a leadership role for a project/program.Provide planning, direction, and oversight to less experienced professional staff or team of professional staff in technical efforts.Formulate plans, typically multi-year, and coordinate solutions development and deployment.Ensure appropriate documentation, testing, maintenance, and engineering updates are completed.Plan for future applications of solutions based on new developments in engineering technology.Develop new and expand existing business opportunities.Communicate with colleagues and management throughout solution development and deployment cycles.Represent the company as a prime technical contact on contracts and/or projects.Interact with external personnel on technical matters requiring coordination between organizations.Essential SkillsAnalog and Digital Circuit board designExperience with Altium, PADS, SPICE simulation tools, HyperLynx, ANSYS, and Atlassian toolsHardware integrationElectrical engineeringActive DoD Security ClearanceAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution12 or more years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, 10 or more years with a master’s degree, or 7 or more years with a PhDEquivalent engineering experience in lieu of educationElectrical system command and data-handling architecture and technical team leadership; high-speed digital circuit design; embedded processing and controls; analysis, design, and implementation of hardware systems to include digital, analog, and RF is required; guiding a design through development and into production; familiarity with DoD technical review process (at a minimum: SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).Desired Experience with High-reliability aerospace electronics and electrical systems; unmanned space-systems and satellites, including micro-satellites, cube-satellites, or small-satellites (>500 kg).High-speed digital circuit designEmbedded processing and controlsAnalysis, design, and implementation of hardware systems including digital, analog, and RFGuiding a design through development and into productionFamiliarity with DoD technical review processWork Environment

The work environment involves working with high-power motor drives, power conditioning systems, energy laser systems, advanced aerospace and electro-optic sensors, space-based optical communications, small satellites, and space systems. Employees will engage in planning, design, and testing of hardware systems in an evolving project environment. The role requires strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with other departments, customers, government representatives, and professionals. The position offers opportunities to develop new and expand existing business opportunities, with active involvement in the technical review process.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $210000.00/yr.
