Electrician Duties and Responsibilities:
Enter, track, and effectively complete all work requests and other daily work items, including all required preventative maintenance (PM), utilizing Altum Work Order Management Software.Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.Read and understand blueprints and technical diagrams that show the sites of outlets, circuits, panel boards, load centers and other equipment. Install and connect wires to circuit breakers, outlets and transformers.Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, etc., to ensure compatibility and safety of system.Review and carryout electrical work orders for event/show needs including, but not limited to, exhibitor/show management orders and catering.Install electrical service(s) per the event orders. Adhere to OSHA, NFPA and other applicable safety codes, as well as ASM Global job safety requirements.Monitor all electrical inventories to ensure availability of supplies.Maintain all equipment used and return to designated storage areas. Perform any and all cleaning of equipment after every use and as necessary to ensure good working order.Careful operation and proper care of mechanized equipment including, but not limited to, heavy duty pick-up truck w/snow plow, aerial lifts and forklifts.Perform all work in compliance with ASM Global guidelines and other duties as assigned.Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.Event Support Duties and Responsibilities:
This position performs and assists with a variety of set, service and strike related tasks for event support in the Arena, Convention Center; pre-function, locker room and banquet rooms including but not limited to:Performs and assists in the installation of audio and visual reinforcement equipment (i.e.: microphones, mixes etc.) to meet client requirements.Repairs and maintains, in conjunction with operations, ASM’s event related equipment (i.e.: seating, carts, tables, lifts, etc.)Operates motorized equipment as needed in accordance with industry standards (i.e.: Genie lift, forklifts, plows vehicles etc.)Completes written documentation for event related services and enters data in the maintenance computer (i.e.: wrap-ups, etc.)Works closely with clients and the general public and represents the facility in communicating building policies with clients regarding set-up, technical services, and overall facility policies.This is not intended to be a comprehensive list of duties performed by this classification, but rather a representation of general duties. Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or vocational training and at least five (5) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience or Journeyman certification. Three years of experience in performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work. A good knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment used in general maintenance work; skill in the techniques of handling the tools and equipment used in a variety of trades.
Language Skills:
Must have the ability to verbally communicate with the general public and clients and also possess written communication skills and computer skills.
Reasoning Ability:
Must have the ability to work from CAD drawings, and electrical service forms. Candidate should also have the ability to read blueprints along with the ability to diagnose facility/mechanical problems and make repairs.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license, a journeyman’s certification is preferred
Physical Demands:
Candidate should be able to lift 75lbs. Operate a Genie lift to heights of 36 feet, be able to work from step ladders and extension ladders as well as scaffolding.
Work Environment:
The work of this class involves evening, weekend, and holiday work. This position requires mandatory overtime as needed. May be asked to work outdoors as well as indoors on any ASM property. Must be well groomed and wear full uniform in accordance with ASM policy and procedure manual.
