Emissions Testing Technician
Job Title: Emissions Testing Technician Job Description As an Emissions Testing Technician, you will conduct third-party EPA air emissions testing and monitoring for industrial and manufacturing sites. Your role includes transporting equipment using a company vehicle, setting up and breaking down testing equipment, recording data, collecting samples, and assisting engineers in air quality testing procedures. You will also be responsible for equipment calibrations, adhering to environmental, health, and safety protocols, organizing and loading testing equipment for upcoming jobs, and maintaining and cleaning testing equipment. Additionally, you will study for and obtain certifications for EPA Test Methods 1-5 using company resources. Responsibilities + Perform third-party EPA air emissions testing and monitoring. + Transport equipment to sites using a company vehicle. + Set up and break down testing equipment. + Record data and collect samples. + Calibrate equipment. + Assist engineers in air quality testing procedures. + Follow environmental, health, and safety protocols. + Organize and load testing equipment into vehicles for upcoming jobs. + Maintain and clean testing equipment. + Study for and obtain certifications for EPA Test Methods 1-5. Essential Skills + High School diploma or GED is required. + Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or Engineering is highly preferred. + Valid driver's license and ability to pass a pre-employment motor vehicle records check, background check, and drug screen. + Ability to frequently climb ladders of 75 feet or more. + Ability to lift and carry loads up to 50 pounds. + Effective written and oral communication skills. + Moderate computer skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Current, valid passport is a plus. + Ability to hoist loads up to 50 pounds by rope. + Experience in a team setting and ability to complete responsibilities effectively. Work Environment The role involves significant fieldwork, with 75% of the sites within 4 hours of the office, and 90% of those within 2 hours driving distance. You may be required to work weekends and travel extensively, including driving and flying (up to 75%). Overnight hotel stays are regularly associated with travel. Office responsibilities may include field data quality control, data entry into Excel spreadsheets, and equipment repair, maintenance, and calibration. Expect to work 8-10 plus hour days in the field, frequently climbing 75-foot (or higher) ladders, lifting and carrying loads up to 50 pounds, and occasionally hoisting loads up to 50 pounds by rope. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
