About the Role
This position is for an embedded software engineer within the Car Audio division of Automotive Audio. The products developed include OEM automotive amplifiers and other similar audio processing devices. These products typically consist of a main microcontroller for configuration, communication, and control, and a DSP processor for audio processing. The role involves working as part of a software development team focused on amplifier product development. Most of the software development will be deeply embedded and written in C. Occasionally, additional testing or development tools may need to be created on a PC. The underlying microprocessor architecture is based on AUTOSAR.
What You Will Do
Develops CDD drivers for AUTOSAR applications.
Understands various features provided by AUTOSAR BSW modules (including MCAL modules) and configures these modules using DaVinci Configurator or similar tools.
Working knowledge of software development tools (debuggers, emulators, compilers, etc.).
Ability to read schematics and debug analog and digital hardware.
Proficient in using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers for troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of software development processes and embedded operating systems.
Analyses customer and internal requirements and specifications and translates them into software designs.
Analyses existing embedded software to add features, make modifications, fix bugs, and/or port to different platforms.
Tests software designs and code at the unit and system level to ensure that all requirements are met, the highest software quality is achieved, and that C1 coverage is attained.
Participates in internal and customer-driven design reviews throughout the program, supported by local SMEs.
Collaborates with offshore development and validation teams to support software development activities.
Communicates and interfaces directly with OEM customers, supported by regional SMEs.
Identifies product requirements or performance issues and works with external teams as necessary to resolve them in a timely manner.
Coordinates software development activities with peers within the Harman group; this may include occasional travel for training or collaboration with other teams.
What You Need to Be Successful
6+ years of experience in microcontroller-based embedded software development or testing.
6+ years of experience in C or other structured programming languages.
6+ years of experience with AUTOSAR, including developing CDDs and configuring BSW using DaVinci Configurator and DaVinci Developer.
Experience in developing and debugging software in real-time, embedded, multiprocessor, multi-interface environments.
Experience working with vehicle networking protocols (CAN, Ethernet, MOST, etc.).
Experience collaborating with offshore development teams.
Familiarity with managing project schedules.
Creative problem-solver, capable of identifying, reproducing, and resolving complex software defects.
Experience in writing network drivers and applications (CAN, MOST, AVC-LAN, Ethernet).
Experience developing or working with AUTOSAR MCAL and CDD.
Experience with uC/OS-II or other embedded RTOS, V850 microcontrollers, S32K microcontrollers, ARM based development.
Bonus Points if You Have
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Familiarity with audio processing is a plus.
Familiarity with Python Scripting, AGILE, ASPICE.
