Engineering Technician
Job Description Insight Global is seeking a mid to senior level Engineering Technician to support a small federal client of ours onsite in the Chesapeake, VA area. This individually will be primarily focused on the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of navigational equipment on ships. The role includes around 10% travel on the East Coast, with potential to also go OCONUS. The day-to-day includes: - Assemble, install or construct equipment or parts. - Service or repair instruments or equipment. - Conduct a variety of tests using established methods, prepare test specimens, adjust and operate equipment and record test data, pointing out deviations resulting from equipment malfunction and observational errors. - Possess working knowledge of DOD military, U.S. Coast Guard and commercial industry specifications and standards. - Read and write system drawings, blueprints, bills of material and technical manuals. - Provide on-site troubleshooting, as well as assist customers in troubleshooting via phone calls or e-mails. - Installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications and electronic systems experience, including specialized experience in either shipboard or shore work. Skills and Requirements - Secret clearance or ability to obtain a clearance - 7+ years of experience as an Engineering Technician - Solid background in electronics repair or troubleshooting of shipboard navigational equipment or ship systems - Ability to write proposals, quotes, or pricing - Some mechanical experience or inclination - Willingness to lead - Completion of military electronics school - Prior Navy or Coast Guard experience - Experience with radar troubleshooting null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
