What will you do?

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on EHS Manager to lead the environmental, health, and safety programs at our Rhome, Texas facility. This individual will ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, while proactively identifying safety risks and fostering a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will be someone who is willing to go out on the floor, engage with staff at all levels, and build positive relationships throughout the organization, while also collaborating with regulatory agencies.

 

Reports to SQE Director

 

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain positive relationships with all levels of staff, creating a culture that emphasizes safety and continuous improvement. Conduct regular shop-floor inspections to ensure compliance with PPE requirements, identify safety hazards, and proactively address unsafe work conditions. Supervise the site Safety Specialist to implement and sustain EHS initiatives and safety programs. Ensure ongoing compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements, including submitting timely reports. Foster a proactive safety culture by encouraging near-miss and incident reporting and ensuring a prompt and effective response to reports. Lead accident investigations to determine both immediate and root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Preparing and submitting air permit applications or modifications. Tracking emission sources, product storage and report as needed (Tier II and TRI). Develop and deliver weekly and annual required EHS training for employees. Review and improve job safety work instructions and associated risk assessments. Analyze safety performance trends, risks, and metrics to develop strategies and countermeasures for improvement. Lead internal and external EHS audits, particularly for ISO 14001 and other relevant certifications. Ensure timely and accurate submission of environmental reports in accordance with EPA and other regulatory requirements. Champion the company's Zero Harm policies and lead by example to ensure a safe working environment.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in environmental, Occupational, or Industrial Health & Safety, or a related field. Minimum 5 – 7 years of EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge and experience with OSHA and EPA regulations, including compliance reporting. Proven ability to engage with frontline employees, supervisors, and senior management to drive a safety-first culture. Demonstrated experience in managing relationships with regulatory agencies and navigating compliance inspections. Solid understanding of risk assessment, hazard identification, and behavior-based safety programs. Experience with ISO 14001 certification and ongoing maintenance is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
