About the Role
Inspection, basic maintenance and testing of multimedia (air, water and solid) portable environmental monitoring equipment used in an oil complex including stack monitoring equipment, PID, FID analyzers, etc., maintaining inventory of spares for these equipment, record keeping of all related items managed by the environmental team. Environmental and regulatory technical support.
Position: Environmental Regulatory Technician II
Location: Melbourne
Indicative Term of Contract: 12 months
Skills and Qualifications
Experience with an oil and gas company in SSHE and/or regulatory compliance
Preferably experienced in construction or extractive industry, international construction projects with environmental, regulatory, socioeconomic, and/or health aspects
Degree in Environmental or Natural Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Technology (AS or BS), or related discipline (preferred but not mandatory)
Technical field related to SSHE management
Understanding of basic industry project construction principles and techniques (upstream petroleum industry preferred)
Some supervisory/organizational talents
Self-confidence to instruct contractors/project workers regarding regulatory compliance and SHE&S performance/implementation
Knowledge of Environmental, Regulatory, Safety, Health processes, Government Affairs/Regulatory Compliance, and related tools
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint for reporting
Advanced user of Adobe for document management
Task & Responsibilities
Assist Sr. Environment Engineer and Environment Engineers in their activities for routine environmental monitoring and environmental data collection
Any other environment related activities assigned by the Sr. Environment Engineer and/or Environment Engineer
Administer the RegFrame database, produce the quarterly “Regulatory Compliance Deliverables Report”, collate responses and enter feedback into RegFrame
Monitor responses for overdue responses and report issues to the Regulatory Lead or SSHESSH&E Management as needed
Maintain a tracking list (the Legislation Summary) to capture amending or emerging regulation
Ensure new legislation or amendments to existing legislation are captured in the RegFrame
Coordinate quarterly stewardship reviews with SSHESSH&E Management
Monitor and produce the Key Performance Indicators nominated in this manual
