Coperion is now hiring a Fabricator to join our team in Kansas City, MO. This position is responsible for performing sheet metal assembly operations that include a variety of complex parts, details, and assemblies. Layout, fabricate, assemble, install, and rework a wide variety of parts and assemblies. **Schedule: Monday through Thursday 5:00am to 3:30pm** **Work You'll Do:** + Operate sheet metal equipment such as brakes, rolls, and use hand tools as required. + Fabricate special equipment as required. + Read blueprints for use in welding and fabrication. + Clamp, hold, tack-weld, manipulate, grind and/or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding. + Detect faulty operation of equipment and/or defective materials and notify supervisors. + Examine work pieces for defects and measure with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance and specifications. + Keep your own work area clean and orderly. **Basic Qualifications:** + Must be dependable, accurate, self-motivated, and possess a strong work ethic. + Ability to use a tape measure. + Basic knowledge of math and geometry. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Must have a keen attention to detail in order to produce quality parts. + Must possess the ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly as well as climb ladders. + Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly, and up to 100 pounds **Preferred Qualifications:** + Preferably have 3 years in a manufacturing environment. + Preferably have experience with roll forms and press breaks and experience with a band saw. + Experience with CNC laser helpful, but not necessary. + MIG and TIG weld skills helpful, but not necessary.
