Job Responsibilities:

Roles and Responsibilities

Fabricate and weld any projects required from Assembly, Press, or Cradles. The Welder/ Fabricator is responsible for welding on all types of steels and castings. The Welder/Fabricator is also responsible for fabricating tools, jigs and fixtures for the production areas. 

Essential Functions

Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies.Understand and promote Magns's philosophies.Welding- Mig, Tig, and arc cutting torch.Machining- mill, lathe, grinder, drill press, brake press, ironworker, shear, saw, plasma table.Hand tools - grinders, drillMust be able to work from blueprints and sketches.Must be able to design and make tools, fixtures and fittings.Has working knowledge of preheating steel or casting and welding rods.To make all types of elements as required.Maintain all welding equipment.Operate a variety of small machines, tools and equipment.To flame harden and flame cut as required.Promote good housekeeping (5S) TPMOperate a forklift and overhead crane.

Position Requirements

Must have a working knowledge of basic drafting (blueprint reading, dimension drawings, etc.)Must have an understanding of basic engineering practices and functionsAbility to use hand tools and small machines

Education/work experience

High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year Associates Degree from accredited technical college is preferred, or equivalent experienceStrong technical background; previous experience with welding/fabricating. Minimum 3 years in heavy industrial environment
