Facilities Maintenance Technician

PenFed is hiring a Facilites Maintenance Technician to work onsite at our Tysons, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this job is to perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to general maintenance, repairs, placement and movement of furniture and office equipment as required. In addition, the incumbent will assist the Facilities Engineers with minor repairs and the installation of equipment. Responsible for moving and storing of furniture and equipment, also the alteration and construction of employee work stations and office space using hand and power tools. Arrange tables and chairs in training/lunch and cafeteria rooms as needed for special meetings or training sessions. Answer, update and close service request tickets in a timely manner. Escort and oversee vendors work and progress. Provide reports back to direct leaders. Hang and arrange pictures, draperies, and venetian blinds etc. using hand tools. Notify supervisor of any needed repairs, and makes minor maintenance repairs. Assist the Facilities Engineer with preventative maintenance programs, including HVAC system, and minor electrical, plumbing and electrical system repairs. Coordinate and provide support during emergencies. Perform maintenance at local branches and main office on an as needed basis. Remove snow and ice from walks and driveways as needed. Provide daily progress reports of current projects. Must be available for emergency coverage for main office and local branches. Meet with fire department and powers down building as necessary. Purchase equipment for department as needed. Perform facility courier duties as needed. Responsible for facility vehicle maintenance. Assist and support building engineer in all tasks and duties. Perform daily and record building checklists. Provide internal customer service on facility related issues and concerns. Provide written updates for internal customers. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. High School diploma or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. required. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Familiar with Microsoft Office Software products. Proficient in written and verbal communication. Supervisory Responsibility This position will not supervise employees. Licenses and Certifications There are no additional licenses and/or certifications required. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. *Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.* Travel Travel to various worksites is required.
