Purpose of the Role

BGIS is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee facilities operations at a large, complex, and critical Department of Communities & Justice (DCJ) site based in Silverwater, NSW. Reporting directly to the CSNSW & YJ Operations Manager, you will work collaboratively with both client and BGIS teams to ensure the efficient, compliant, and safe delivery of all contracted services—driving client satisfaction, continuous improvement, and commercial performance.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and resilient leader with a passion for service delivery and stakeholder engagement, capable of navigating the challenges of a justice environment and managing subcontractors, budgets, and high-volume maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver all FM services in accordance with contract obligations and KPIs Manage contract financials, budgets, invoicing, cost control, and reporting Lead and mentor a team of Facilities Supervisors and Coordinators Oversee subcontractor performance, documentation, compliance, and WHS&E standards Manage asset planning, maintenance programming, and CMMS accuracy Maintain positive client relationships through meetings, reporting, and proactive issue resolution Ensure legal, regulatory, and system compliance (QMS, OH&S, EMS) Promote risk management, contractor safety, and continuous improvement culture

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential:

Strong experience in property, real estate, or facilities management, ideally in government or high-security sectors Proven success in managing subcontractors, budgets, projects, and maintenance operations Deep understanding of QA, OH&S, and environmental systems Financial acumen including budget forecasting and invoice reconciliation CMMS proficiency (e.g., BEIMS or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite Resilience, adaptability, and people leadership in high-pressure settings

Desirable:

Tertiary qualifications in Property, Commerce, Business or related discipline Experience in justice, defence, or high-risk operational environments

This role is based full-time on-site at our client’s Silverwater facility, a complex and high-security location.
