We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source for Facility Supervisor (Landscaping) - 8.3.3 specialising in Building Facility Maintenance and Fit Out Works. This is a long-term contract role working on a residential basis 5-days per week / 8 hours per day. Please see details below;

Duration: 3 years (renewable)
Location: Onshore (Office base)
Working Schedule: 5-days per week / 8 hours per day


Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable activities of soft landscape and Irrigation system by developing and implementing required policies, procedures, and strategies to achieve the division objectives and targets.  Conducts the operation audit of Landscaping and Irrigation Contractor’s activities and ensure that landscaping and irrigation activities are performed in compliance with contract clauses, QatarEnergy regulations/procedures, QCS and prevailing best practices to safeguard QatarEnergy interests.  Supervise, and monitor the Landscaping & Irrigation Contractor’s activities. Inspect condition of soft landscaping area including grass, ornamental plants, shrubs and trees for insect infestations and disease, decide on treatments to ensure healthy condition of the developed landscape area and direct the Contractor personnel to implement integrated pest management programs to control weeds, pests, and diseases.  Review and recommend for approval estimate/payments related to preventive/corrective maintenance works in compliance with the contract. Provide support for budgeting soft landscaping and irrigation works.  Monitor and administer the Contract and ensure that all vehicles, tools, materials, plants, equipment, and other resources are mobilized and available at site and used safely, effectively, and efficiently. Ensure that these resources are well-maintained, well organized, and reordered promptly. Implement and oversee inventory control pertaining to the landscape activities. Develop scope of works for landscaping, indoor plants and irrigation maintenance contract and make appropriate recommendation to the superior for the project take over.  Provide Indoor plant options suiting to the built environment and monitor indoor plant maintenance in collaboration with the cluster focal point and the contractor. Perform technical evaluations of documents / routine operations, establish technical recommendations to identify the opportunities to improve and enhance the reliability as well as identify, opportunity to optimize the operations, consumption of resources to ensure sustainable, safe, and reliable operation of the landscape and irrigation.  Investigate HSE Incident related to landscaping/irrigation to establish the basic root cause and track the effective implementation of the corrective / preventive actions. Coordinate with Civil Engineer to ensure hardscaping associated with landscaping is properly designed and maintained.



Experience required:
BSc. Agriculture / Horticulture or Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or its equivalent.

Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in design & construction including considerable experience in maintenance of hard and soft landscaping for commercial facilities, public parks, roadway beautification. Conversant with up-to-date landscape and irrigation techniques. Incumbent shall be able to read and understand engineering drawings. Knowledge of automated irrigation system and its controller is an added advantage. Strong technical and scientific background to analyse and interpret pertinent data and documentation to prepare technical reports. Experience in promoting behaviour based HSE Culture. Knowledge of applicable standards and best practices related to landscape and irrigation.  Computer literate is essential. Excellent written and spoken English.
