Faculty (Open Rank) Neuromuscular - Neurology, MCGovern Medical School

  McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston's Department of Neurology is seeking a neurologist, non-tenure track, in our clinical Neuromuscular Program. The candidate will join a busy and growing subspecialty practice and be part of a dynamic department with all neurologic subspecialties represented.  Besides busy outpatient practice, we have strong electrophysiology and neuromuscular pathology programs. The group also participates in clinical trials and there are ongoing translational research efforts in inflammatory/autoimmune neuromuscular conditions.  We offer an academic environment with ample opportunities for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.  The primary responsibility will be outpatient clinical care of patients with neuromuscular disorders.  Research, teaching, or inpatient care involvement is available depending on the candidate's interests and background. 


Position Key Accountabilities:  

Clinical responsibilities would include up to five days of clinic a week. Teaching opportunities are available. The position is affiliated with McGovern Medical School, the 6th largest medical school in the nation, a robust Neurology residency program, and an ACGME-accredited Neurophysiology/EMG Fellowship program.


 Qualifications:

Medical degree from an accredited medical schoolGraduates of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education  (ACGME) accredited neurology residencyActive board-certification and be licensed in the State of Texas (or eligible to be licensed).Outstanding clinical, interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with excellent administrative and organizational abilities
