Touro University’s Lander College of Arts and Sciences is hiring a full-time Administrative Assistant position for the Dean’s Office in Brooklyn, NY. This position interfaces with students, Deans, Chairs, and faculty and provides administrative support for the Dean of Students.
Responsibilities Responsible for typing memos, letters, and general correspondenceResponsible for entering and updating information into the system and creates reportsCreates files and follows up with any missing documentsResponsible for maintaining forms required by the Commission on Higher EducationResponsible for responding to phone calls from prospective students and answering questions; forward certain calls to appropriate advisor Mail requested documentsInteracts with different departmentsAssists with student orientations and registrationsInteracts with upper level personnelPrepares requisitions for department follows up on difficulties; keeps track of all orders by the departmentMaintains master list of all documentsManages calendar and sets up appointmentsResponsible for general administrative tasksPosts and types flyer announcementsParticipates and attends meetingsLiaison between Dean and studentsResponsible for ordering suppliesSpecial projects as assigned by Dean of Students Qualifications Education/ExperienceThree-four years of work experience in an office setting is required.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesGood interpersonal skillsExcellent computer skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsWell organized and excellent telephone skillsEnergetic, reliable, and responsibleProficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and AccessTravelPossible traveling once or twice bi-weekly to Manhattan Maximum Salary USD $42,117.00/Yr.
