As the Financial Reporting Analyst at Canfor, you’ll be a vital part of a high-performing Finance team that thrives on precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Analysis (and in the interim, the Director of Corporate Reporting & Analysis), you’ll play a central role in delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting that supports both internal decision-making and external regulatory requirements. The life of the Financial Reporting Analyst includes:
Contributing to the preparation of monthly internal consolidated financial results, reports, and analysis used by senior leadership Supporting the development of quarterly and annual external reporting materials, with a focus on Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) Assisting in detailed financial analysis for both of Canfor’s public companies Acting as a key liaison with external auditors, particularly for MD&A-related matters Collaborating with finance teams across the business to understand key performance indicators (KPIs) and their impact on results Supporting month-end close processes, including consolidation and select journal entries Helping maintain the General Ledger Chart of Accounts (COA) Extracting and analyzing data from ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards) to support reporting and decision-making Identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance reporting quality, and develop new financial insights Participating in a variety of ad-hoc, high-impact finance projects
What you bring to the role:
· CPA-CA designation and an undergraduate degree in a related field
· Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience
· Strong understanding of IFRS and regulatory financial filings
· Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards), Excel, and BI tools
· Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
· Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ideally, you have a background in consolidation accounting in a multi-divisional, public reporting company and thrive in structured, process-driven environments. You’re analytical, adaptable, and passionate about delivering high-quality financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
