The Role:


The Food Runner is responsible for working with Stand Workers and kitchen staff in concession stands to deliver food and beverage orders from stand to guest at all events.

Responsibilities:

Shows initiative and approaches all tasks with a “can-do” attitude.  Ability to work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment. Able to follow job procedures and supervisor’s instructions. Cleans and maintains concession areas. Helps  set up and break  down stand at beginning and end of night. Maintains a professional attitude and appearance. Keeps the BOH workspace clean and in order. Sets up BOH areas each day to the venue  Closes FOH/BOH areas each day to the venue  Runs food to the correct tables and boxed seat locations Ensures all food and beverage meet quality standards. Possesses knowledge of the food and drink menu and provide detailed descriptions of delivered foodproducts. Ensures stock rotation of perishables – sauces/condiments in BOH areas. Responsible for organization of stock around the expediter in BOH areas. Provides outstanding customer service to enhance guests’ experience. Performs other duties as assigned by Management. Shows flexibility by rotating to other service locations when necessary.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 16 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read, speak and write English in order to communicate with staff and guests Ability to work all venue events and maintain a flexible schedule to meet service demand levels, including extended hours, days, nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to work in an open aired environment during all climate conditions Must be punctual and dependable Must maintain personal hygiene and a well-groomed appearance in accordance with company and venue standards Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including constant standing, reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette preferred Ability to effectively listen and take direction from management Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting Must meet state and local health requirements for food handlers and alcoholic beverage services SERVSafe and City of Philadelphia Food Safety Personnel Certificate a plus


Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.
