General Manager
General Manager will include allocating budget resources, formulating policies, coordinating business operations, monitoring and motivating staff, managing operational costs, ensuring good customer service, improving administration processes, engaging with vendors, hiring and training employees. Primary Duties \u2022 Project a positive image of Smurfit Kappa, and offer leadership with a positive attitude that reflects genuine friendliness and concern to the employees \u2022 Manage the day to day operations by directing and coordinating all phases of operation including making profits acceptable to corporate management \u2022 Increase effectiveness and efficiency of operations through improvements as well as coordination and communication between departments \u2022 Working knowledge of profit and loss statements and estimating \u2022 Maintain a working knowledge of federal and state labor laws \u2022 Review performance of all areas including sales, production and administration \u2022 Assist VP-Packaging in planning for capital equipment and increase of plant personnel \u2022 Make or maintain measurable efforts toward achieving a management and overall workforce that is diverse in ethnicity and gender, the goal being representative of the larger community in which we are located \u2022 Abide by all laws -- federal, state and local -- in conducting personal and professional duties \u2022 Act ethically and responsibly in handling all company matters, especially those in which confidentiality is required \u2022 Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures \u2022 Personally tours operations and talks face to face with their staff about safety performance and concerns. Provides prompt, honest feedback on safety concerns raised by the workforce, and implements viable corrective actions. SKNA employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies. \u2022 Additional duties assigned by management Job Qualifications \u2022 Minimum ten years' supervisory experience as a proven manager, or applicable education and experience \u2022 Minimum ten years' sales/production manufacturing/financial experience \u2022 Must be a self-starter to the effect he/she must initiate, assign, and follow through to completion of various tasks \u2022 Have a vision that sees a healthy, vital growing company that is a leader in all positive ways that are practical \u2022 Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written, preferred \u2022 College degree, preferred \u2022 Ten years or more experience in the corrugated box industry (including production, sales and finance.) preferred Smurfit Westrock (NYSE:SW) is a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging solutions.
