We are looking for an organized and proactive Trilingual General Ledger Accountant to join our Shared Service Center (SSC) team. This role is responsible for core general ledger activities including fixed asset accounting, intercompany reconciliation, and supporting monthly closings. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, while maintaining compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Job Responsibilities Fixed Assets Accounting and Administration - Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, transfers, follow-up of AUC and perform monthly depreciation. Intercompany Accounts Reconciliation – Perform monthly intercompany account reconciliations and follow up on outstanding balances. Ensure intercompany transactions are accurately recorded and documented in accordance with group policies. Month-End Close Support - During Month-end closing GL Accountant will perform the activities and processes of reviewing and closing the financial records for a specific month. Ensuring the timeliness, completeness and accuracy of financial data and providing insights into the company's financial performance for management and stakeholders. Compliance & Controls - Ensure transactions comply with internal controls and accounting standards (IFRS/local GAAP). Participate in internal and external audit preparation by providing documentation and responding to audit queries. Support standardization and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Identify and suggest improvements to accounting procedures and reporting processes within the SSC framework. Balance Sheet Reconciliations - Prepare and complete timely monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies or aged items in balance sheet accounts, ensuring proper documentation and supporting evidence. Proactively identify risks, unusual trends, or inconsistencies in account balances and escalate issues as needed. Maintain accurate records of reconciliation processes for audit readiness and compliance purposes. Support the standardization and automation of reconciliation processes within the Shared Service Center environment. Background & SkillsMinimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2–4 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably in a shared service or multinational environment. Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards (IFRS / Local GAAP). Fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese (written and spoken) is required. Practical knowledge of integrated ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle) Strong MS Excel skills for data analysis and reconciliation. Detail-oriented with strong organizational, proactive and analytical skills. Ability to work effectively across teams in a deadline-driven environment. Willingness to learn and increase responsibilities Teamwork and ability to work in a changing environment with different cultures Customer focus and good communication skills Ability to identify and implement improvement opportunities
Preferred Qualifications
Good knowledge of another European language would be an asset Previous experience on GL in SSC / BPO sector Hands-on experience with fixed asset and intercompany modules in SAP or Oracle.
