Hardware Technician and Support Specialist Department: Information Technology Employment Type: Full Time Location: Liberty, SC Reporting To: IT Manager Compensation: $55,000 - $60,000 / year Description We are seeking a motivated Hardware Technician and Support Specialist to join the Knowles/Cornell Dubilier Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing computer hardware and server infrastructure at our manufacturing facility in Liberty, SC. Key Responsibilities + Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers and other hardware components. + Provide professional technical support to end-users and resolve hardware related issues in a timely manner + Diagnose and resolve hardware issues, including component-level repairs and replacements. + Recommend and purchase new IT equipment. + Set up and support physical and virtual servers, including routine maintenance and upgrades. + Monitor server performance and ensure system availability and reliability. + Perform regular backups and recovery operations. + Maintain inventory of hardware equipment and manage asset tracking. + Document procedures, configurations, and support activities. + Work alongside the IT team to solve day-to-day challenges. + Troubleshoot industrial printers. + Collaborate with outside technical support as needed. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise + Proven experience in hardware support and server maintenance. + Strong knowledge of computer hardware, server architecture, and peripheral devices. + Familiarity with Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). + Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). + Ability to lift and move hardware equipment as needed. + Some travel may be required to other Knowles/Cornell Dubilier facilities as needed. + CompTIA A+, Server+, and Microsoft Server certifications a plus but not necessary. + Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field + Equivalent experience + Full body movement + Close mental and visual attention to detail + Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities + Strong communication skills + Willingness to accept new challenges and be flexible + Ability to lift up to 60 pounds + Exposure to dust, oils, heat, cold, high noise, and vibrations + Ability to work with a team in both manufacturing and research areas Benefits Benefits: + Competitive pay and benefits package + Opportunities for professional development and growth + A dynamic and collaborative work environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement. The starting pay for this role is between $55,000 - $60,000 per year.
