The role
As a Health, Safety and Environment Advisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be responsible for managing HS&E risks, ensuring compliance with legislation, and implementing company standards. Working closely with operational teams and site staff across Babcock Marine – Rosyth, you’ll help drive a proactive safety culture.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with Site Managers, management teams, and the associated supply chain to manage Health and Safety effectively. Being part of a proactive, high-functioning team, you will contribute to maintaining and improving HS&E standards. You will also: 

Guide contracts and sites on implementing HS&E legislation, policies, and standards. Assess site risk controls, provide competent guidance, and collaborate with operations to enhance safety measures. Conduct HSE audits, manage corrective actions, and ensure effective learning from reviews. Support site managers in meeting legal and company HS&E requirements, review policies, and promote a positive safety culture. Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

 

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Rosyth. 

 

Essential experience of the Health, Safety and Environment Advisor

Proven experience in an HS&E role, ideally within shipbuilding, engineering or other high-risk industries. Actively engaged in CPD, working towards higher IOSH membership status or relevant specialisms in Occupational Health & Safety. Experience of working in a shipbuilding, electrical, mechanical or engineering technical discipline, or other high-risk industry Strong working knowledge of the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations Professional Membership: IOSH or an equivalent

 

Qualifications for the Health, Safety and Environment Advisor

NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent). 

 

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
