Heavy Equipment Mechanic
**Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic** **Job Description** This position requires a versatile and skilled individual to join the maintenance team as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Tupelo MS. The role involves repairing and maintaining heavy equipment such as CAT, Deer, MAC, and proprietary equipment. The primary focus is to support fleet maintenance operations and ensure equipment is rental-ready. **Responsibilities** + Repair and maintain heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes, skid steers, tractors, mini excavators, dozers, trucks, and compact track loaders. + Diagnose and troubleshoot systems such as hydraulic systems, combustion engines, motors, and electrical systems. + Perform preventative maintenance on the fleet and maintain equipment to meet quality and efficiency standards. + Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on fleet equipment and trucks with minimal supervision. + Diagnose internal combustion engines, DC electrical systems, propane systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems. + Perform major repairs using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments. + Conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements, and assorted services. + Utilize warranty repairs to save and mark parts, and manage work orders through the fleet management system. + Recondition and replace parts of heavy equipment as needed. + Diagnose significant wear or tear on equipment. + Maintain a clean and organized work area. + Produce detailed service reports and repair logs. + Assist in training junior mechanics and follow directives from the shop lead. + Adhere to all company procedures and protocols. + Perform additional duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Experience with troubleshooting electrical issues. + Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting various heavy equipment systems. + Two years of experience in heavy equipment repair. + Possession of hand and air/electric tools for repair tasks. + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Diesel engine troubleshooting and maintenance. + Hydraulic and mechanical system knowledge. + Ability to read and understand technical schematics and manuals. + Computer skills for entering information into systems. + Effective communication skills. + Ability to operate and test various equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, and compressors. **Why Work Here?** Join a close-knit team with a great culture and opportunities for growth. Uniforms are provided. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tupelo, Mississippi. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $36.00/hr.
