Histotechnician III

Our Client, a Clinical Laboratory company, is looking for a Histotechnician III for their Lakewood, CO location. Responsibilities:
+ The histotechnician will perform all routine and special paraffin histotechnology duties in our state of the art, CAP-certified pathology laboratory.
+ Under the guidance of a Senior or Lead Histotechnologist, you will provide high quality diagnostic material within established turn-around-times.
+ Embeds, cuts, stains and performs other tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory.
+ Performs accurate gross description on tissue samples.
+ Perform quality control procedures established for each method and maintains accurate records.
+ Operates all instruments/ equipment according to accepted written procedures and recognizes and identifies instrument/ equipment problems.
+ Meets acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards for the section.
+ Recognizes testing errors/discrepancies or problems and notifies appropriate personnel; assists in problem resolution.
+ Record, transcribe, and maintain records of patient test results according to protocol.
+ Assist other personnel with identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results.
+ Review accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing in the Laboratory Information System.
+ Complete routine and STAT testing within acceptable turn-around time guidelines.
+ Covering all the benches.
+ Embedding, cutting 40, IHC and special staining
+ What is the compelling story for the Suppliers on why their candidates would be interested in this role.
+ Working for a large company such as Client. Assisting the team in a time of need.
Requirements:
+ Over 1 years of embedding and Microtomy
+ Preferred Skills:
+ IHC
+ Special staining
+ Minimum of an AS degree (minimum requirements of high complexity testing)
+ Certification Preferred: ASCP or HT Cert
