HR Director
Description We are looking for an experienced and strategic HR Director to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Greenville, Michigan. In this role, you will oversee a wide range of human resources initiatives to enhance compliance, streamline processes, and optimize organizational performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact by improving policies, developing training programs, and ensuring the sustainability of key HR functions. Responsibilities: • Conduct a thorough assessment of onboarding and payroll processes to identify areas for improvement and create actionable plans to enhance efficiency. • Review and update HR policies related to recruitment, interviewing, position changes, and disciplinary actions to ensure compliance and best practices. • Collaborate with finance and auditors to assist with the 401(k) retirement plan audit and establish clear compliance tracking methods. • Develop and implement a modernized performance evaluation process that includes self-assessments, goal-setting, and consistent application across departments. • Create a comprehensive supervisor training series covering essential topics such as hiring, performance management, progressive discipline, and effective communication. • Evaluate current HRIS and applicant tracking systems to identify gaps and recommend system improvements or alternative solutions. • Review and analyze the organization's benefits package to assess competitiveness and affordability, providing recommendations for enhancements. • Develop a recruitment strategy that includes updated job postings, outreach methods, and standardized candidate screening tools. • Document key HR workflows and procedures to ensure smooth knowledge transfer and operational continuity. • Provide expert guidance on compliance policies related to eligibility tracking and measurement periods, delivering actionable recommendations for improvement. Requirements • Proven experience in HR leadership roles, with a strong understanding of compliance and policy development. • Expertise in onboarding processes, payroll systems, and HRIS platforms. • Demonstrated ability to design and implement performance management frameworks and supervisor training programs. • Strong knowledge of benefits administration and full-cycle recruiting strategies. • Experience conducting audits and ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards. • Excellent analytical skills to evaluate current systems and processes, with the ability to recommend practical improvements. • Exceptional communication and leadership skills to effectively manage teams and drive organizational change. • Ability to document and standardize HR workflows for long-term sustainability.
