Inpatient Coding Supervisor

Fairview is looking for a full time supervisor to oversee the Impatient Coding team. This is a remote position and is benefit eligable. The hours for this position will be day shift Monday - Friday. The Hospital Based (HB) Coding Supervisor is a pivotal role that demands a high level of coding expertise, exceptional leadership qualities, and innovative management approaches within the complex landscape of our Revenue Cycle department. This position reports to the HB Coding Manager and involves supervisory responsibilities, including staffing in the absence of the HB Coding Manager, assignment of daily workloads to HB Coding team, and representation at facility meetings in the absence of the HB Coding Manager. The HB Coding Supervisor is expected to maintain an extensive knowledge of the Electronic Health Record (EHR), departmental solutions, and HB coding practices. **Responsibilities** **:** + Sets, oversees, and adjusts daily coding production goals to ensure timely and accurate completion of work. + Demonstrates financial acumen by understanding coding metrics and collaboratively sets specific goals, standards, and objectives for intra-departmental processes with leadership and other relevant areas. + Manages staff performance, including responsibilities such as hiring, training, work assignment, performance evaluation, and professional development planning. + Ensures that team actions align with and support the overall operational goals of the coding department as established by departmental leadership. + Continuously optimizes workflow and proactively identifies, communicates, and prioritizes opportunities for process improvement. + Maintains and enhances team proficiency with system navigation and updates to maximize operational efficiency. + Provides oversight to ensure strict compliance with established laws, regulations, practices, and procedures. + Ensures that both the team and oneself remain knowledgeable about and compliant with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards. + Champions employee engagement, collaboration, and investment, fostering a positive culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. + Promotes a pathway for innovation to achieve top-tier performance within the coding department **Required Qualifications** + Associates Degree in Business, Health Information Management, or related area + 3 or more years Inpatient coding experience in a Hospital Revenue Cycle Dept. + One of the following certifications: + RHIT + RHIA + CCS + CIC **Benefit Overview** Fairview offers a generous benefit package including but not limited to medical, dental, vision plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, PTO and Sick and Safe Time, tuition reimbursement, retirement, early access to earned wages, and more!
