Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented to Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) Inspector Lead join our team! In this role you will get to support the Project Manager on a dynamic, fast paced construction project(s), meeting the needs of our clients for high-quality, safe, and complete deliverables.
What You'll Be Doing:
Support the PM with overseeing the electrical work involving the cable systems, routing, power interfaces and converting system requirements to electrical work requirementsInspect electrical and mechanical infrastructure for conformance with construction drawings, project specifications, layouts, and electrical code requirementsInspect mounting of the cables and all other electronic equipment pertaining to the project for conformance with construction drawings, project specifications, layouts, and electrical code requirementsMake periodic field inspections to ensure Contractor installed materials and equipment conform to plans and specifications, identify potential problems and develop recommendations to resolve issuesConduct spot checks to determine quantities of materials installed to verify accuracy of Contractor payment requestsReview shop drawings and respond to contractor inquiriesDevelop test procedures and review test resultsAttend field reviews with either the Client or Project team to discuss field conditions and design considerationsUse procedures identified in the Project Implementation Manual, and provide project staff with guidance on the use and application of ProcoreAssist with developing punch lists at the completion of contract milestones and inspection for completion of workConduct Substantial Completion Inspections and Final Acceptance Inspections. Prepare punch-lists or worklists in areas of assigned responsibility before Substantial Completion Inspections. Monitor and record correction of construction deficienciesOversee on-site material testing (as required)Assist with contract close-out and the acquisition of Contractor prepared technical documents for CLIENT’s project record documents, including as-built plans, drawings, and schematics; andPerform other duties as assigned by the PM and/or CLIENT Task Manager.What Required Skills You'll Bring:
High School Diploma and Technical School Certificate; Bachelor's Degree preferred.OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire10+ years experience in performing daily field inspections of electrical items on similar past projects, developing daily field inspection reports and adequate documentation of all electrical inspection work related items, and reading and interpreting construction documents including approved drawings, specifications and all other documents related to the projectAble to communicate effectively with on-site construction managers to provide detailed and accurate reporting of daily inspection taskDemonstrated experience in performing the required inspection work constructed by the general contractor and subcontractors to verify that this work is performed in accordance with contract plans and specifications, approved shop drawings and all other approved work plansDemonstrated experience in preparing written and electronic daily field reports and maintaining quality assurance logs detailing work performed, any deviation from plans, unforeseen conditions, and any non-conforming workAbility to monitor correction of non-conforming work by the general contractorAbility to assist Office Staff with project controls (pay requests, submittals, Requests for Information [RFIs]) and issuesAbility to assist Office Staff with project close-out and/or Claims support.Minimum Clearance Required to Start:
