Ally Financial Inc.'s Independent Risk Management function is responsible for objective and critical assessment of risks and through oversite, effective challenge, and other means evaluation of whether Ally remained aligned with its risk appetite and risk limits. In this role, the Insurance Risk Analyst II will be responsible for supporting documentation and execution of Independent Risk Management processes and procedures for Ally Insurance Line of Business (Business Line). Additional key responsibilities will focus on governance, monitoring, testing, reporting, and advancing insurance risk. The Insurance Risk Analyst II is responsible for assisting the development and execution of IRM Insurance Risk testing and monitoring processes. The individual will interact predominantly with the Ally Insurance Business Line and various enterprise functions.

Risk Assessment and Analysis
Engage directly with Business Line to understand business offerings, processes and procedures; work effectively with Business Line associates while maintaining independence necessary to fulfill IRM's review and effective challenge responsibilitiesAssist with identification of risks and develop strategy for sufficient mitigants and controlsAnalyze data trends to detect irregularities in underwriting, claims, premium calcs, etc.Process and Control Improvements
Maintain an understanding of Ally’s monitoring and testing approach, methodology and tools/technologyTest the design and effectiveness of internal controls and recommend enhancementsIdentify opportunities to streamline monitoring processes through automation/PBISupport initiatives to strengthen risk management frameworksIssue Reporting and Resolution
Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and implement corrective actionsValidate issues to ensure the action plan effectively addresses the problem and provides a stable, long-term solution for remediationTrack reported tasks until resolutionReporting and Documentation
Documenting findings from tests and monitor activities in a clear and concise mannerDevelop detailed reports for internal stakeholdersProvide recommendations for process improvements and/or procedural enhancements based on tests and findingsGovernance
Monitor and drive Business Line adherence to enterprise policies and provide independent review and challenge of Business Line policies, standards and proceduresSupport creation and implementation of Enterprise Insurance Risk Policy, and related standards, procedures, or committee chartersThe Skills You Bring 1+ years of experience required. 1 year within the financial services and/or insurance industries preferred. Base Pay Range: $55000 - $95000 USDAn individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer. Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
