As an Intermediate Bridge Design Technician, you’ll have the opportunity to join one of our Alberta offices (Calgary or Edmonton) and work on transportation projects that focus on bridge and other transportation structure design. Each day you will work with a team of technicians and engineers to create drawings and simulations using software tools and resources supporting our clients’ overall project goals. Using your experience, you’ll work with bridge engineers and project managers to provide top client service.
You’ll also create layouts, sketches, and 2D/3D modeling and electronic drawing files for construction by utilizing Microstation, AutoCAD, OpenBridge Designer, OpenRoads, Civil3D and other firm-provided resources to create detailed drawings of transportation structures.

'- A two-year technical degree in CADD
- 5-10 years’ experience detailing bridges, laying out retaining walls, and detailing reinforcement and steel.
- Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Experience with Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat pdf software
- Knowledge of Alberta Transportation Drafting Standards
- Ability to read construction and engineering documents
- Ability to maintain a high attention to detail and accuracy of production plans.
- Solid teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Experience with or OpenBridge Designer, OpenRoads), Civil3D, Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud and ProjectWise
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated experience in development of bridge plans.
