The Internal Controls (IC) function within PMI applies agile ways of working to advise partners globally and ensure timely evolution and optimization of PMI’s control landscape, considering evolving and emerging risks, while fostering the adoption of a balanced risk culture across the Three Lines.

 

Your 'day to day'

 

As an Internal Controls (“IC”) Business Partner you will be acting as Co-Pilot with Market Management Team (“MT”) to facilitate and deploy global ERM program with the market operational (bottom-up) risk management and control activities, while driving first line (“FL”) business control ownership and maturity. You will be responsible for:

 

Assisting MT and FL in enhancing risk and control practices by promoting overall risk culture and global Internal controls programs;Identification and assessment of risk impacting business events;Leading controls advisory engagements;Leading deployment of global internal controls initiatives (Risk Control Self-Assessment, Control Optimization Program, Issue Resolution, etc.); andCollaborating with Internal Controls Functional Business Partners and central IC CoE team to implement global programs and strategy at market/cluster level.

 

More specifically, you will

 

Increase control maturity by partnering with internal stakeholders, partners, team members.Actively conduct Internal Controls advisories prioritization and planning, ensuring timely execution of the advisory plan within the area and providing adequate support to prioritized projects. Align all changes to the risk landscape and risk assessment plan with the IC Management and communicate them to the market MT. Demonstrate collaborative spirit in a way to set side egos, break down silos and come together for a common objective.Facilitate bottom-up risk discussions, identify, assess, collect, register and monitor bottom-up ERM process risk data drivers and risk responses. Calibrate and benchmark issues and process risks among region and function, consolidate and report timely. Seek, listen, and learn from diverse perspectives and other functions to reach the best outcomes.Support Region in preparing the regional update for the management reporting. Provide details of the changes in the risk landscape including new/emerging risks, significant changes in financial reporting control environment, and update on issues and frauds.Lead quarterly meetings with market MT for Market Risk Governance Committee updates on emerging risks, issues, and internal controls.Foster a culture of risk awareness by engaging with internal stakeholders and maintaining integrity through transparent communication.

 

Who we're looking for

 

Master’s degree or equivalent experience (e.g. Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, etc.).Post University Professional Certification/Education.10 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, (Enterprise) Risk Management, Internal Controls, GRC, Audit, or a combination of the six.Ability to develop enduring partnerships with all customers and employ a data-driven approach to respectfully challenge, welcome diverse perspectives, and confidently voice your opinions.Capability to lead and support the team during uncertain situations and effectively collaborate with internal collaborators.Deep understanding of the business operation, commercial landscape, regulatory environment, and market/area specifics.General knowledge and experience in governance, risk management, internal controls, and general assurance provisioning activities.Capability to leverage data to bring insights and identify areas of elevated/emerging risks and articulate them clearly.Awareness of technology-related risks, including data protection, privacy, and impact of using technology.Ability to drive, structure, coordinate, or support key projects and embed new ways of working.Previous People management experience in providing clear direction, measurable objectives and mentorship. Proactively seeking and providing feedback, act upon it to help strengthen the organization and develop people. Motivate team members by engaging and empowering them, and ensure people know accurately what is encouraged of them and what success looks like.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Proficiency in written and verbal English.
