What you will be doing

Maintains inventory integrity throughout the Distribution Center including accurate reporting of all inventory transactions, accurate item file information, and proper internal controls that will provide for a smooth flow of merchandise through the facility.  This responsibility can extend to all inventories including parts, fuel, tires, etc.The position will be based in (use applicable locations) Boise, Idaho, or one of our main regional offices (Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, Pleasanton CA, Denver CO, Dallas TX, Chicago, IL, or Fullerton, CA, Phoenix, AZ). 

Main responsibilities 

Coordinates changes to the inventory for damage, spoilage, vendor returns, department changes, pack changes, and product recalls/returns with the Accounting Manager and accounting staff. Schedules and coordinates all physical inventories and cycle counts.  Prepares physical inventory recaps on a timely basis for distribution to management.  Reviews and develops inventory control procedures as appropriate.  Identifies and resolves all internal shrink problems. Reviews and monitors daily/weekly inventory reports. Confirms & validates that all inventory SOX control requirements are satisfied. Monitors Warehouse outs and inventory adjustments daily and take any necessary corrective action. Monitors/assists quarterly parts and supply inventories to ensure accuracy. Coordinates and interacts with various government agencies (i.e., FDA, USDA, etc.). Monitors fuel inventories and reconciliation procedures.  Oversees Hardware Control Program for pallets and miscellaneous items. Maintains record retention program in compliance with corporate guidelines and policies. Works with Procurement to resolve excess inventory problems.  Monitors store returns and salvage programs. Performs shipping/receiving audits on-site and in retail stores as required. Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.

What we are searching for

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred) and/or equivalent work experience. Possess ability to analyze, interpret, and report financial data. Possess good communication skills, both oral and written.  Deal effectively with a wide variety of people both in person and over the telephone. General knowledge of EDP applications and computer capabilities helpful.  MS Office experience required.  Experience in Essbase, Lawson/Oracle, QMF, and/or EXE a plus. Possess ability to work with minimal supervision, good organization skills and attention to detail.

PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Makes recommendations regarding personnel actions such as:  hiring, terminations, layoffs, promotions, and salary increases. May review and evaluate work of subordinates and prepare performance reports.

• Supervises staff on a daily basis as assigned. Assigns employees to jobs; instructs them in the proper performance of work; and familiarizes them with Company rules and regulations

What is it like at Albertsons? 

Some work is performed under general office conditions in a temperature-controlled environment.  Additional work will be in warehouse environment, including mid-temp & freezer locations. Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal. During part of the workday the incumbent will be moving about the Distribution Center warehouse floor and potential hazards exist in regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, movement of tractors and trailers, etc.
