The Office is currently seeking an investigator to join the Consumer Protection Division where they will work to enforce the newly enacted Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act, as well as laws related to data privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. As an investigator, you will design and carry out research projects, collect and analyze data, prepare detailed reports summarizing your findings, and provide recommendations on whether investigative action is warranted based on your analysis. You will review consumer complaints to identify potential violations of privacy and data security laws and provide recommendations on the feasibility and appropriateness of enforcement actions. You will monitor technology markets to identify emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on consumer privacy and data security. Additionally, you will participate in community outreach and deliver training sessions focused on data privacy and consumer technology issues. To be considered at the Legal Assistant 6 level, candidates must have at least 6 years of directly related experience.
