Janitorial Supervisor to oversee custodial staff and ensure the cleanliness, will lead by example, enforce safety standards, and coordinate daily cleaning operations to maintain a high standard of hygiene and appearance throughout the building.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the work of janitorial staff across assigned shifts or locations. Inspect and evaluate cleaning tasks to ensure high-quality results and compliance with safety regulations. Train and mentor new custodial staff on proper cleaning procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols. Maintain cleaning supply inventory and coordinate with vendors or management for replenishments. Prepare and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and workflow efficiency. Address and resolve staff performance issues or complaints promptly and professionally. Conduct routine inspections of facilities and report any maintenance or repair needs. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (OSHA standards, MSDS, etc.). Assist in hands-on cleaning duties, cover during staffing shortages or emergencies.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in janitorial or custodial management is a plus. 2+ years of experience in janitorial services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and best practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple priorities. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods. Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and operating janitorial equipment.
