Journeyman Plumber
**Job Title: Journeyman Plumber** **Job Description** Perform installations of plumbing equipment for new commercial construction sites throughout West Michigan. Work with copper and PEX plumbing materials using hand and power tools to hang, solder, and thread pipes to completion. Read tape measures accurately, cut, and level piping installations. **Responsibilities** + Fit and solder copper for domestic water systems. + Thread pipes and ensure proper installation according to plumbing codes. + Utilize hand tools such as tape measures, channel locks, drills, and levels. + Work comfortably at heights, with average tasks around 20 feet and occasionally up to 100 feet. + Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. **Essential Skills** + Ability to fit and solder copper pipes. + Pipe threading expertise. + Knowledge of plumbing codes and installation techniques. + Ownership of necessary hand tools including tape measure, channel locks, drill, and level. + Comfort with heights. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + State of Michigan Journeyman or Master Plumber certification. + Leadership experience in plumbing projects. + Understanding of operating equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, and ladders. + 3+ years of experience in commercial plumbing or pipefitting industry. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy the benefits of working for an employee-owned company where you can earn shares and receive yearly stock bonuses. Projects primarily have roofing overhead. Work alongside a team of 20 plumbers and pipefitters in the department. Start shifts at 6 or 7 am with potential for 8-10 hour days and 5-10 hours of overtime. Personal protective equipment includes steel toes or boots that go over the ankle, with hard hats, glasses, gloves, and power tools provided. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, Michigan. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
