Junior Architectural Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a Jr. Architect who wants to take the next step in their career. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of architectural experience within the construction drawing phase and full proficiency in using Revit

ResponsibilitiesWork within the construction drawing phase to lead a team in producing full construction document sets for multi-family/mixed-use projects ranging from 200-4,000 sq ft.Produce full sets of construction drawings for new construction projects.Ensure all drawings comply with building codes.Coordinate with clients, engineers, and trades on all projects.Advise and oversee junior staff within the construction drawing phase.Spend 25% - 50% of time in technical production, including producing, marking up, and red-lining documents.Review all drawings for code compliance.Essential Skills1 to 3 years of architectural experience within the construction drawing phase.Full proficiency in using RevitStrong understanding of residential projects, including multi-family/mixed-use and single-family projects.Knowledge of building codes.Bachelor of Architecture degree.Ability to coordinate with all engineering trades and manage ground-up projects from inception through completion.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in producing construction documents and overseeing other architects.Strong project management skills.Ability to work with and advise junior staff.Experience in coordinating with clients, engineers, and trades.Work Environment

The position offers real work flexibility with a non-traditional approach to working hours. Staff can come in late as long as they complete their 8 hours (within reason). The studio environment is collaborative, with 70% of the work done independently and 30% in collaboration. The company has two locations: Asbury Park, NJ (main office) and Boca, FL, with the ability to work out of either office if needed. The staff total is 9, with a mix of architects and designers. The projects include 60% multi-family/mixed-use, 20% residential single-family, and 20% hospitality. The average project length varies from 2 to 5 months. The work environment also includes 5 days in the office with flexible hours and summer hours.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $36.00/hr.
