Lab Technician
Job Title: Lab Technician Shift: 3rd Pay: $24.15/hr Job Description As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for performing daily analytical tests according to applicable test methods and procedures. Your role will involve testing and analyzing samples to determine their strength, stability, purity, chemical content, and other characteristics. You will prepare chemical solutions for use in processing materials, following standardized formulas and experimental procedures. In addition, you will assist in laboratory projects related to microbiology testing and follow established company policies and procedures to set up lab equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control under general supervision. Responsibilities + Perform daily analytical tests according to applicable test methods and procedures. + Test and analyze samples to determine strength, stability, purity, chemical content, and other characteristics. + Prepare chemical solutions for use in processing materials, following standardized formulas and experimental procedures. + Assist in laboratory projects related to microbiology testing. + Follow established company policies and procedures to set up lab equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control. + Produce a test investigation report for any out-of-specification test results. + Document results of tests and analyses. + Maintain laboratory equipment through daily cleaning and consistent preventative maintenance. + Ensure the cleanliness of the work environment. + Work on semi-routine assignments while recognizing the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice. + Refer to senior staff for assistance with higher-level problems as necessary. + Escalate issues to the supervisor for resolution when needed. + Assist with various projects as required. Essential Skills + Experience in laboratory work, including academic lab experience. + Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, or experience in Microbiology or Biology. + Experience working with instruments such as Atomic Absorption (AA) and ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) Spectroscopy. + Understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). + Experience in Quality Control (QC) testing of raw materials and finished products. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Knowledge of wet chemistry and microbiology is highly beneficial. + Strong skills in titration, pipetting, and viscosity measurement. + Ability to pass a color acuity test for titrations. + Attention to precision, accuracy, and quality of work. Work Environment This role primarily involves working in a laboratory setting on the third shift from 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM. The work is semi-routine in nature but may require deviation from standard practices occasionally. The environment is collaborative, allowing the technician to refer to senior staff for guidance and escalate issues to supervisors when necessary. The position offers a competitive hourly rate with an additional shift differential. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.15 - $24.15/hr.
