Job Description
The Lab Technician is responsible for the care and maintenance of all laboratory glassware, maintaining supplies and chemical inventory levels, and performing performance qualifications and verifications on assigned instruments.
Responsibilities
Collect dirty glassware from chemists and carts throughout the day.Operate laboratory glassware washers and dryers, and hand-wash as needed to support R&D and the Pilot Plant.Return cleaned glassware to shelves and/or analysts.Maintain stocks of glassware and order new glassware as necessary.Coordinate the removal and disposal of old or broken glassware.Prepare soap solutions according to pre-defined procedures.Provide SAP inventory, receiving, ordering, and shipping support.Receive and ship items as required.Monitor chemical inventory and lab supply levels.Perform daily balance and water checks.Conduct routine performance qualifications and calibrations on select laboratory instruments.Assist the team lead in special projects.Adhere to laboratory and facility safety policies.Essential Skills
Proficiency in laboratory practices and chemistry.Experience in quality control and lab testing.Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in the sciences is preferred.Basic knowledge of lab safety and good laboratory practices.Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and efficiently.Detail-oriented, organized, clean, conscientious, and flexible.Ability to wear company-provided Personal Protective Equipment including lab coat, neoprene gloves, and safety eyewear.Effective communication skills.Ability to follow written procedures and instructions.Basic troubleshooting skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds.Flexibility to work overtime and flexible hours on short notice.Experience working in or with hazardous environments or conditions.Work Environment
The position is based in a laboratory environment where the technician will work with various chemicals and instruments. Personal Protective Equipment such as lab coats, gloves, and safety eyewear will be provided and required at all times. The role may require standing for extended periods and lifting up to 30 pounds. The work may involve exposure to hazardous environments or conditions.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
