Job Title: Lab Technician Job Description The Lab Technician is responsible for processing SPF chicken embryos, cell cultures, and microbial cultures, as well as producing antigens and reagents. The role involves preparing media, buffers, and solutions, completing internal documentation, and performing housekeeping activities, including waste disposal and glassware preparation. Essential Skills + Experience in laboratory and cleanroom environments. + Proficiency in using PPE and aseptic techniques. + Skill in handling fume hoods and sterile techniques. + Knowledge in biology and microbiology. + Ability to perform pipetting and operate an autoclave. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.). + 1-2 years of related experience and/or training. + An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Work Environment The role is based in a manufacturing environment, with a start time of 7:30 am, consisting of an 8-hour shift with breaks. The employee will regularly stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and use a microscope. Frequent walking and sitting are also required. The position requires lifting and moving up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently. Specific vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, and color vision are necessary. The work environment can become hot. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
