We boldly go. **Job Summary:** Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for an on-site position in our new Engineering & Technology Laboratory in Davidson, NC as a **Lab Technician Co-op** for the summer and fall **.** Your primary function in this entry-level position is to assist in building and validating facilities and sub-systems for laboratory testing to support product development for Commercial Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (CVHAC) Products. The role requires a high level of problem solving, troubleshooting, organization, and collaboration with other lab and engineering team members to ensure timely completion of projects. **Responsibilities:** + Work safely and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures + Assist more senior technicians to install, troubleshoot, and validate lab devices and systems. + Set up and instrument HVAC units for testing in laboratory facilities + Assist with reading blueprints, manuals, or other specifications to determine installation or modification procedures + Assist in identifying, specifying, and ordering parts **Qualifications:** · Currently and actively enrolled to receive a certificate or degree in a relevant technical field such as HVAC or electronics technical degree, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering. **·** Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required. **Key Competencies:** + Mechanical aptitude. Experienced and comfortable with hand tools and power tools + Familiarity with instrumentation and data acquisition + Basic understanding of schematics, reading, and interpreting engineering drawings, technical reports, safety rules, operation, and maintenance instructions + Ability to help solve practical problems and deal with a variety of complex variables in situations where only limited standardization exists + Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written means + Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced team environment + Experience working with PLC's and controls is a plus
