We are looking for a talented Landscape Architectural Intern to join our team of professionals in a full-time capacity. Working closely and under the direct supervision of the Discipline and Project Leads, you will be involved in a wide range of projects with varying levels of complexity and scale, working through all project phases from pre-design through post construction services. **Your Key Responsibilities** + Assist with preparing marketing materials including proposals, awards, etc. + Assist with Site Analysis tasks including Site Context reviews and Documentation of existing features, Plant ID, Sun Studies and Zoning Analysis. + Assist with Field Work tasks including investigating/verifying existing field conditions including inspection, documentation, measurement, and verification, etc. + Participate in client meetings and stakeholder engagement workshops including user group meetings and prepare agendas, schedules and meeting minutes. + Assist with preparing Project/Design Reports including graphic communication, writing, and coordination. + Assist with AutoCAD model set up, drafting and delivery of drawings. + Assist with and develop renderings, 3D models and other graphic communications. + Assist with developing Concept Design and Schematic Design Documents including drawings, diagrams and outline specifications. + Assist with developing Design Development Documents including drawings and outline specifications. + Assist with the evaluation and selection of planting and materials and develop planting plans. + Assist with grading design and plans. + Assist with developing Contract and Construction Documents including drawings and coordinating specifications. + Assist with Construction Administration tasks such as Supplemental Instructions, Contemplated Change Notices, Change Orders, and Change Directives. + Assist with preparing Record Drawings. **Qualifications** **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + * Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills. * General knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry associated standards. * General understanding of the relationship between drawings and specifications. * Ability to engage and work within a creative and critical integrated design practice with an interest in holistic design, systems thinking, construction, materials, sustainability, and technical design detailing. * Ability to produce design at a level that would be perceived externally as excellent. * Ability to participate in collaborative project team settings. * Ability to apply accessibility codes, applicable building codes, and life-safety codes to a wide variety of project scopes and complexity. * Strong time management, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and organizational skills. * Valid driver's license and willingness to engage with occasional field work/site visits. * A high level of proficiency in AutoCAD and an understanding of Microsoft Office, Revit and other BIM technologies, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUP, and other recent modeling and rendering software. **Education and Experience** + A Master’s Degree or accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited post-secondary institution. + Minimum of 2 years of professional experience working under the direct supervision of a Landscape Architect. A copy of your portfolio may be requested for review. + Experience in landscape construction, design, or urban development-related position would be considered an asset. + Experience working with non-profit organizations whose purpose is to enhance neighbourhoods through placemaking practices and policy development would be considered an asset.
