Job Purpose

To provide essential support to the kitchen team by assisting in food preparation and maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities Operational Responsibilities

Assist chefs in daily food preparation and routine kitchen tasks as instructed.

Follow all operational standards and comply with internal policies and local Municipality guidelines.

Ensure ingredients and materials are properly stored in accordance with food safety regulations.

Work efficiently to minimize food and non-food waste.

Maintain the highest levels of hygiene and sanitation throughout the kitchen.

Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively; ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of all machinery.

Perform any additional duties as assigned by the management team.

People & Teamwork

Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.

Maintain a positive and proactive approach to tasks and team interactions.

Requirements

Education & Certification

Certification in Food & Beverage, Catering, or related field is preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment.
